ECO Cleanup action in Dubrovnik

A cleanup action took place on Saturday 19th of September at two of the test sites of the SeaClear project in the Dubrovnik area. We have now footage of the actions and an analysis of the litter that was collected during the actions.

Lokrum island

17 divers took place at this clean up action, and they managed to collect 88 kg of waste within one hour of diving. Most of this was in the form of plastic (80kg), consisting of 615 plastic bottles and 450 different plastic fraction units

Bistrina Bay

13 divers participated in the Bistrina Bay cleanup action. An even bigger amount of waste was collected from this area (225 kg) in a more diverse composition (140 kg rubber, 35kg metal, 30kg plastic). 90% of the waste collected was attributed to the maricultural production, which is a main activity in the area.
