Kruno Bonačić

Kruno Bonačić, is an assistant professor at the Department of Applied ecology,University of Dubrovnik with professional experience in the commercial aquaculture sector.
He obtained a PhD in fish nutrition at the University of Barcelona under the supervision of dr. Sofia Morais in 2016 while working at IRTA-Sant Carles de la Rapita institute in Spain.
During this time, he also collaborated on research projects involved in alternative lipid sources for aquafeeds with CIIMAR, Portugal and University of Vigo, Spain. Prior to, during
and after his PhD, he has worked for/with companies from Croatia, Malta, Spain and Netherlands on land- and marine-based culture systems and has extensive knowledge on
finfish and bivalve hatchery technology. Currently, his main research interests lie in developing sustainable aquaculture practices through innovative feed formulations, species
diversification and environmentally integrated culture methods

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 871295.

The SEACLEAR project spans four years, running from January 1st, 2020 to December 31st, 2023.
