On the 1st and 12th of June, our partners from University of Dubrovnik and the Laboratory for Intelligent Autonomous Systems (LIRIAT) performed initial investigations on the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) at two of the testsites we identified for the SeaClear project.
The investigations took place at the Lokrum Island and on the Mali Ston Bay, both very close to the city of Dubrovnik. The purpose of this test was to get initial footage both from the UAVs and UUVs and identify possible issues with visibility or weather conditions. The aerial footage was capture with a DJI Spark UAV and the underwater with the BlueROV UUV.
The test proved very useful as it already identified possible issues with light reflection during specific times of the day. Below, you can see some preliminary footage from the UAV flying away from the port of Lukrum island.
